LADOT is committed to maintaining the health and safety of the public we serve and our staff.  In an effort to minimize exposure to COVID-19, LADOT closed parking public service centers and will close adjudication offices to in-person hearings starting Monday, March 23, 2020.  Public call centers will remain operational.

Motorists may request a hearing by written declaration or by telephone for citations and impounds. Mail correspondence to: Parking Violations Bureau, P.O. Box 30420, Los Angeles, CA 90030.  Please include the citation number, your name, postal address for all correspondence, and all supporting evidence for your case.

For a hearing by telephone: please contact the Parking Violation Bureau at 1-866-561-9742 to schedule a telephone appeal.

If your vehicle is currently impounded, you are encouraged to retrieve your vehicle immediately.  To contest the impound, please contact the parking enforcement office nearest to the location of the impound.  If your vehicle is booted, please contact the Parking Violations Bureau at 1-866-561-9742.

What
We Do

Since the decriminalization of parking citations in 1993, Parking Adjudication Division has assumed the processing of the Administrative Review and Hearing process of all impounds, boots/tows, and parking citations issued within the City of Los Angeles.

The main mission of Parking Adjudication Division is to provide Hearings under the California Vehicle Code (CVC), the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC), and the Los Angeles Administrative Code for Citations, Impounds and Booting within the City of Los Angeles municipal limits, which include citations issued by council-controlled departments, as well as the independent departments such as Harbor and Airports, and several non-City agencies such as the California Highway Patrol, California State Police and Santa Monica Conservancy.

Parking Adjudication Division processes Hearings for mail-in and in-person citations, mail-in and in-person impounds, and boot/tow Hearings for five or more citations with penalties.

The Division maintains three offices located in the downtown Civic Center, Van Nuys, and West Los Angeles.
